Description

Crystal Quest 2 is a thinly-veiled Boulder Dash clone. It plays like other Boulder Dash games where you must collect all the gems and then head to the level exit. It includes some enemies to avoid on later levels. Graphically it aligns with other BD games you may have played before. There were apparently plans to expand the game but this seems to be the final version. At least there are a decent number of levels, 26 according to the list of files included in the game.Crystal Quest 2 is a DOS-based action and puzzle game released in the early 1990s, a sequel to the original Crystal Quest. This game was developed by Dunlop Interactive and features a mix of arcade-style action with puzzle-solving elements. While it may not have been a mainstream hit, it still holds a certain charm for fans of retro DOS games. Collecting Crystals: The primary objective in Crystal Quest 2 is to collect the various crystals scattered across each level. You must gather all the crystals to complete a level and advance to the next. Navigating Obstacles: Each level has different challenges, such as moving obstacles, enemy ships, and traps. The player must dodge these hazards while trying to collect the crystals. Enemies: The game features several different types of enemies that will actively try to destroy your ship. You'll need to avoid them or use limited power-ups to clear them out. Power-ups: Power-ups are available to help the player in navigating through levels, providing shields or temporary weapons. These can be crucial for surviving more difficult stages. Levels: The game consists of a series of increasingly difficult levels. As you progress, the levels become more complex, with faster enemies and more intricate obstacle layouts. Time Pressure: Some versions of the game may include a time limit or a scoring system, adding an additional layer of challenge and urgency. Controls: The game uses simple keyboard controls, usually involving arrow keys or other directional keys to control the movement of the ship. The player can also shoot or activate power-ups with other keys.
